Vieria Concept

 
This conceptual vehicle offers one different point of view over the pollution problems in the big cities. It was designed by Gunwoong Kim and Suji Kim and is equipped with an air filter under the passenger capsule. So here is what we have: fully electric vehicle that ingests dusty and dirty air purifies it and releases clean and breathable air. Sounds good, right? Well, a single car would probably clean small and maybe insignificant amount of air, but imagine thousands of vehicles purifying what you breathe every day?

Electric Plane Wins Biggest Prize in Aviation History. Nasa has awarded biggest prize in aviation history to an electric plane after its team designed a craft that flew 200miles in two hours. The $1.35million prize was handed to the crew behind the Taurus G4 plane designed by the Pipistrel-USA team. The Taurus G4 was in competition against two other craft as part of the CAFE Green Flight Challenge final, backed by Nasa, which aimed to make green air travel a realistic possibility.

America’s Shelby Supercars (SSC) is now officially the manufacturer of the ‘World’s Fastest Production Car’ thanks to its Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo supercar. The 1183hp (882kW) speedster set a new top speed record with an average Vmax of 255.83mph (411.76km/h), 3.11mph (5.01km/h) faster than the unofficial record set by the Bugatti Veyron. In order for the achievement to be official under the Guinness World Records’ guidelines, a vehicle testing for the top speed record must race down the course, turn around, and make a second pass in the opposite direction within one hour.

The Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida is a hyperboloid design with 16 concrete columns squeezing toward the center and then flaying out into the sky. The design recalls hands reaching up toward heaven, with a circular movement that recalls the eternity of ancient designs. Unlike previous such buildings, the concrete structure is filled with a ceiling of pure glass. The floor curves up to reach the glass at a threshhold above eye level.

Atomium Brussels Belgium created in 1958 for the Brussels World’s Fair held in Heysel, Brussels, the Atomium Bruxelles is the only structure left standing after the fair. It was designed by André Waterkeyn to be a replica of a single unit of iron crystal blown up 165 billion times stands at 102 metres each sphere is 18 metres in diameter, about the size of a large apartment. There are 9 spheres all together connected up by tubes. The spheres are wrapped in stainless steel (originally aluminium).

The building is covered with glass panels and during the day all 24 sides sparkle like a real diamond. Architects Victor Kramarenko and Michael Vinogradov wanted to preserve and convey this vision at night.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Alexandrian Library) in Alexandria is a wonderful reincarnation of the famed ancient library of Alexandria. The original library held the largest collection of manuscripts in the world and was a great center of learning for 600 years until it burned down in the 3rd century. The dramatic new library, resembling an angled discus or a great sundial, was designed by a Norwegian architect and cost about $200 million.

The Maserati GranCabrio MC is 48 millimeters longer than the standard GranCabrio and will adopt a highly sporty and aggressive look. Its front end was inspired by the coupe version of the MC Stradale, while the rear gets a large spoiler, with the third brake light built into the luggage compartment inside the spoiler.The Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale will also utilize the Coupe’s 4.7 liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 460 HP and a peak torque of 383 lbs-ft at 4,750 rpm. The original idea of these cubic houses came about in the 1970s. The concept behind these houses is that Piet Blom tries to create a forest by each cube representing an abstract tree; therefore the whole village becomes a forest. The cubes contain the living areas, which are split into three levels. The triangle-shaped lower level contains the living area. The middle level contains the sleeping area and a bathroom, while the top level, also in a triangular shape, is used as either an extra bedroom or a living space.
